Desiree Due, a rookie striker who pushed Lee Kang-in out last season, won the trophy a month after winning the Golden Boy, which is awarded to the best prospect of the year.

France's RMC Sports reported on the 2nd that "PSG's offensive midfielder and striker Desiree Doue received the Golden Boy Trophy."

The Golden Boy Trophy is an award given to prospects under the age of 21 who have performed best in the year and is organized by Italian newspaper Tutosport.

Earlier, the winners had already been announced in early November.

At the time, Tutosport said, "The judges' evaluation was not in doubt. As the main character of the UEFA Champions League final, I finished a special year by winning the title."

Starting with the Trope de Champéon (France Super Cup) last season, French striker Due won the League 1, the Coupe de France, the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.

Lee Kang-in's chances to play naturally decreased as Due played as PSG's main player last season.

Lee Kang-in was strongly trusted by playing in all the games played by PSG until the first half of last season, but in the second half, he was reduced to a substitute resource.

Since then, coach Luis Enrique has appointed Due, not Lee Kang-in, and PSG's performance has also improved remarkably.

Due, who was highly praised for his performance as the main player with 16 goals and 16 assists in 61 official matches, proudly topped Arda Güller (Real Madrid) and Pau Kubarsi (Barcelona).

Due attended the Turin Motor Show in Turin, Italy, on the 1st and received the Golden Boy Trophy.

"I can speak French and English but I am not good at Italian," said Due, who asked for his understanding in advance. "I'm so happy to be with you tonight. This award means a lot to me. I want to thank my family including my parents for being here."
